I’ve always been really fascinated by kelp forests, even though I’ve never seen one in person. While doing some research, I came across the Sussex Kelp Recovery Project, a group working to bring back the vibrant underwater forests along the Sussex coast.

That’s what sparked the idea for Lynn and her kelp forest. A cautious little mermaid who once blamed humans for the harm done to her home. But now, as she watches people working hard to bring back her colourful home, she’s starting to believe that maybe some humans do care after all.
